I am often asked for business analysis advice by my clients and colleagues, so I thought it natural to put virtual pen to paper and distil some of my thoughts. Common themes in this advice is;

• do you have a template for XYZ?
• how do I [perform some technique]?
• what training do you recommend for a new business analyst?
• what are the career paths available to a business analyst?
• what are the characteristics of a quality business analyst?
• how do I develop and grow a business analysis practice?
• where does business analysis fit with [some other discipline]?

So, without any great form or structure for the future of this site, let’s explore some of these themes as we go. I promise to write no less than one article a week, and possibly more depending on my creative ambition.
